The young brand Atelier Basaalt has started its first creations in 2018, at that time only for a circle of close friends. In spring 2022 Catherine visited Lokal and decided for the first time ever to expose her gold plated pieces in the LOKAL boutique and make a leap from online to a physical space.
This winter-spring 2023 season the partnership takes place for the second time. Just as the first edition, Catherine's jewels are very much appreciated from outside our store, many curiously enter the store and are quickly attracted by her jewelry and her brands name.
Why Atelier Basaalt ? Catherine Cremer, its creator, did her studies in chemistry and has always dreamed of volcanology. Basalt is the extrusive igneous rockformed from the rapid cooling of low-viscosity lava, more than 90% of all volcanic rock on Earth is basalt.
The transformation as lava into rock, is what this young creator is passionate about, every time she enters our store she presents us a new piece that does not resemble at all to the previous one. New techniques, new work tools and a lot of creativity in the design make her brand become one of the most loved by our customers.
